Tween Twins

I brought my twins out for a photo shoot yesterday. They are growing so fast and turning into teens right before my eyes. One day they are toddlers and the next, they are in middle school with braces and legs longer than mine. Where does the time go? I have to say though, I love the growing stages. Watching them turn into the people they have become. Each year brings new memories.

And, that's what the photos are for. I'm so glad that I have taken literally hundreds of pictures of them over the years. Maybe that's why I love photography, because I love my kids. They're crazy and cool and like all moms, I don't want to miss a minute.

 Really love these black and whites of Jack. He's a musician. Can you tell by the hair?

 My not-so-serious subject, Payton. Glad she's having fun today. She's a nut!

 This one was a little over-exposed, but I like it anyway.

 He's so much taller than her now. That's okay, everyone needs a big brother; even the one the same age.

Wild Life

My husband was walking in the woods (his favorite place to be) and found a this turtle. He or she, is an Eastern Box Turtle. Gorgeous, isn't it?  I'm pretty on board with any animal around our house accept for a bird; they freak me out.

So the kids decided that the turtle needed a place to swim and they put him on top of our pool cover. It has rained quite a bit lately and it is just deep enough and full of leaves to make Hawkeye comfortable and happy. That's his name by the way, Hawkeye.

So here is the turtle enjoying his day in the sun.

Shadow Fairy Costume

Last year my daughter wanted to be a shadow fairy for Halloween. Yes, this is a made up costume but she rocks it. We bought the wings and found a tutorial on you tube for the mask. If you remember, P!nk wore a mask like this in her video "Blow Me One Last Kiss." It was pretty easy to do. Here are the results.

Feeling Beachy

Today, as I was looking at some old photos, I decided to share some of them. The beach is the best place in the world to just soak in the atmosphere. Each day is different and I love to come out and bring the camera and see what happens next. Combing the shore for shells, watching the birds (and dogs who are lucky enough to be brought here) and feeling the sun on my face makes for one happy day. These were taken at Fort Story, VA.

Amazing Beach Day

This was the best day at our new hangout. I won't say where it is, if you know it, you'll recognize it. It's an amazing place to unwind and take in the scenery and warm weather. We came after a day at school and were not prepared to swim. But as kids go, put them near water, they'll end up wet. Can you blame them? I love to get candids of them playing and being kids. I can't wait to come back for some dry portraits. I think the one of Jack with his bag of chips is possibly my favorite.
